Save Energy

• Turn machines off when not in use

Minimise Waste
• Re-use things wherever you can: Padded envelopes, scrap paper, files etc.
• Use both sides of a piece of paper
• Mend broken machines before replacing them
• Look for charities, schools or other organisations who will use your old furniture or machines
• Stop junk mail and get your company added to the mailing preference service list
• Avoid disposable products
• Get milk delivered in bottles that can be reused
• Use re-chargeable batteries

Buy Responsibly
• Choose re-cycled options wherever possible
• Choose electrical products that have TCO status
• Choose multifunctional machines rather than an individual fax, printer, scanner and copier – one machine is better than 4 separate ones

Recycle Where Possible

• Contact your local authority to check out the recycling provisions in your area

• Encourage people to take part in your environmental programme
• Ask to see your company environmental policy and if you don’t have one, encourage your company to produce one
• Tell your suppliers and customers and encourage them to do the same
• Be proud of your efforts – add a simple message to your emails to tell people your achievements
• Don’t forget to apply the same principles at home and remind your colleagues to do the same

Reduce Pollution
